Transport Minister Applauds Progress Of SLRSA New Office Project

Minister of Transport and Aviation, Ambassador Col. (Rtd) Alhaji Fanday Turay, Esq., on Wednesday, 7th January 2026, paid a working visit to the new office complex of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) located at Africanus Road, Freetown.

The Minister was received by the Authority’s top management, led by the Executive Director, Mr. James Bagie Bio, alongside the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Josie Abraham Scott-Manga, and Directors of the Authority.

During the tour, the Project Manager, Mr. Abel Onomake, tok the Minister through key sections of the facility, including the canteen, licensing hall, conference hall, boardroom, gym, and several offices, notably those of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director.

Speaking during the visit, Executive Director James Bagie Bio informed the Minister that the project commenced in 2014 and that the Authority is currently working assiduously to ensure its timely completion. He expressed appreciation to the Minister for his continued support to both the project and the SLRSA, and reaffirmed management’s commitment to improving Road Safety and service delivery across Sierra Leone.

At the end of the tour, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, commending the SLRSA leadership for their dedication and effective management of the project. He noted that the infrastructural development aligns with the vision of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, adding that such progress is in line with initiatives that please the President.

The Minister further assured the Authority of his continuous support as it works towards completing the project and strengthening Road Safety administration in the country.

In his remarks, Project Manager, Abel Onomake, disclosed that the new office complex is expected to be completed and ready for occupation by March 2026.
