Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has expressed deep concern about the arrest and continued detention of APC Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya, which followed remarks made by Dumbuya at a recent party meeting. Bangura condemned the action and stated that he is actively working with party leadership and other flagbearer candidates to ensure Dumbuya’s immediate release. “I strongly condemn this action and am actively working with party leadership and fellow flagbearer candidates to secure his immediate release.” “The strength of any democracy lies in its ability to tolerate dissent, protect political pluralism, and uphold the rule of law, especially at a time when the country is at a crossroads with elections and constitutional reforms on the horizon,” he stated.
