Amb. Koroma Signs Book of Condolence

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Salamu Koroma, has signed the book of  condolence at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Freetown following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on the 12,3,2026. The eighty-six year old Supreme Leader was killed on February 28, 2026 in an air strike conducted by America and Israel on his residence  in Tehran.

Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, born April 19, 1939, in Mashhad, Iran, was a Shia cleric and political leader who served as Iran’s Supreme Leader from 1989 until his death. He previously served as President of Iran from 1981 to 1989 and was a prominent figure in the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Supreme Leader is the highest political and religious authority in the Islamic Republic of Iran, a position established after the 1979 revolution and traditionally held by a senior Shia cleric.
