Freetown, Sierra Leone — In a bold move, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, announced that all opposition Members of Parliament will immediately suspend participation in parliamentary proceedings until the APC National Secretary General is released from detention.
Hon. Kargbo confirmed that the Secretary General is not the only party official in custody. Mohamed Moriba, the APC’s Bo District Public Relations Officer, is also being held at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters.
“This suspension is effective immediately,” Hon. Kargbo stated, emphasizing that the opposition MPs will not return to parliamentary business until all detained officials are released.
This development comes amid rising political tensions and underscores the opposition’s demand for the release of its party officials.
