Sharod Mweemba has been Remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown by Justice Adrian Fisher on four count charges, to wit: unlawful possession of drugs contrary to section 8 (a) of the national drugs control Act 2008 Act No 10 of 2008, transporting prohibited drugs contrary to section 7 (b) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008, collecting prohibited drugs contrary to section 7 (b) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008 and dealing in a prohibited drugs contrary to section 7 (c) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008
According to the particulars of offence; on the 24th June 2026 at the Freetown International Airport, Lungi, Port Loko District in the North West region of the Republic of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of two small size and one big pillets of cocaine, the same, positive of cocaine hydrochloride, weighing 1.9 kilograms, without lawful authority.
Count two further stated that on the above date and place the defendant transported a prohibited drug called cocaine from Freetown to the Freetown International Airport, Lungi, Port Loko District in the North West Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the same, positive of cocaine Hydrochloride, without lawful authority.
Count three further stated that on the above date at a Guest House in Freetown, the defendant collected a prohibited drug called cocaine, the same, positive of cocaine hydrochloride, without lawful authority.
Count four further stated that on the above date and place the defendant was found dealing in a prohibited drug called cocaine, the same, positive of cocaine hydrochloride, without lawful authority.
When the charges were read and explained to the defendant he pleaded not guilty.
The State Prosecutor, Musa Pious Sesay Esq Jr, sought for a short adjournment date. The defendant was not legally represented. Meanwhile Justice Fisher refused bail and sent the defendant to the male correctional facility in Freetown and the matter was adjourned to the 2nd September 2026
