Alusine Barrie and Jeremiah Williams Lawundeh were remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown by Justice Adrian Fisher. Both defendants are standing trial on four count charges, to wit: unlawful possession of drugs contrary to section 8 (a) of the national drugs Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008, unlawful possession of drugs contrary to section 8 (a) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008, unlawful possession of Arms contrary to section 22 (1) of the Sierra Leone commission on Arms and ammunition 2023 Act No.24 of 2023 and Dealing in a prohibited drugs contrary to section 7 (c) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008
According to the particulars of offence; on the 15th March 2026 at Leicester car-wash, Leicester village in the western area of Freetown, the first defendant was found in possession of twenty tablets of Tapentadol 250mg, the same positive of tramadol Hydrochloride weighing 40.0 grams without lawful authority.
Count two further stated that on the above date the second defendant was found in possession of two hundred tablets of Tapentadol 250mg, the same positive of tramadol Hydrochloride weighing 120.0 grams without lawful authority.
Count three further stated that on the above date and place the second defendant was found in possession of one short gun without lawful authority.
Count four further stated that on the above date and place the second defendant was found with a prohibited drug called Tapentadol 250mg, the same positive of tramadol Hydrochloride without lawful authority.
When the charges were read and explained to both defendants, they pleaded not guilty.
The State Prosecutor, Musa Pious Sesay Esq Jr, sought for a short adjournment date to lead his witness. Both defendants were not legally represented.
Meanwhile, Justice Fisher refused them bail based on the seriousness of the offence charge and the matter was adjourned to the 12th October 2026.
