APC District Office, Yardu Road, Gbense Chiefdom, Kono District — 21st September 2026

The Leading Flagbearer Aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party, Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, on Sunday, 20th September 2026, visited Kono District, where he delivered a major package of support to strengthen APC party structures and contribute to community development.

The intervention included 100 solar street lights, with 10 allocated to each of the district’s nine constituencies, and 10 designated for learning institutions.

Jagaban also provided nine motorbikes, with one motorbike allocated to each constituency for the respective Constituency Youth Leader. Additional items included 32 ceiling fans, five indoor air-conditioning units and a complete PA system.

The support package also included continued attention to the ongoing construction of the APC Kono District Office, which Jagaban inspected during the visit to assess progress and determine the remaining requirements for its completion.

Former Kono District APC Chairman, Raymond Kai Gbekie, expressed appreciation to Jagaban for his continued support to the APC and communities across Sierra Leone. He noted that Jagaban’s interventions have contributed to strengthening party structures and supporting development initiatives in different parts of the country.

Speaking during the programme, Jagaban thanked the APC executives, supporters, stakeholders and the people of Kono for their presence and continued commitment to the party.

He expressed special appreciation to Eng. Ibrahim Suma, the project contractor, as well as the women of Kono District for their valuable contributions and support.

Jagaban explained that the primary purpose of his visit was to inspect the APC District Office, assess the progress of construction and identify the outstanding requirements needed to fast-track completion of the facility.

Addressing questions about his connection to Kono, Jagaban acknowledged that while some people may not regard him as a son of the soil, he considers himself a son of the South-East.

He emphasized that the challenges and development needs of people across the region are also his concerns, adding that he would continue to do his best to support the APC and contribute to the development of Sierra Leone.

Jagaban stressed that his interventions were not intended to compete with anyone, but were aimed at strengthening the APC and improving the capacity of its structures.

He subsequently handed over the items to Raymond Kai Gbekie and Eng. Ibrahim Suma for proper coordination and implementation.

Following the presentation, Eng. Ibrahim Suma took Jagaban through the newly constructed APC District Office, explaining the progress of the project and highlighting areas requiring additional work and resources.

The inspection provided an opportunity to assess the outstanding works and discuss measures required to accelerate completion of the facility.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Melvin Comba Alieu Concuwa, who expressed appreciation to Jagaban for his support to the APC District Office, the people of Kono and his wider interventions across Sierra Leone.
