The High Court has issued an interim injunction restraining the current executive of the All People’s Congress (APC) from performing executive functions, holding meetings or managing the day-to-day affairs of the party.
The order was granted by Justice Fisher following an ex parte application filed by counsel for the plaintiff, Alfred Conteh, on August 27, 2026, in the Judge’s Chambers. The case is filed against Dr Ernest Koroma and others.
Under the order, the first and second defendants are prohibited from presenting themselves as executive members of the APC or performing duties reserved for the party’s National Chairman and Leader and National Secretary-General.
They are also barred from convening executive meetings, supervising the affairs of the party or undertaking activities related to its daily administration pending the hearing and determination of the application, or any further order of the court.
The injunction further applies to all executive members serving under the APC 2022 Constitution. They have been restrained from holding themselves out as executive members, attending or convening executive meetings, performing executive duties or participating in the administration of the party while the order remains in force.
The court also suspended all actions taken by the current APC executive from August 19, 2026, pending the hearing and determination of the application.
The order warns that any defendant or other person bound by it who disobeys its provisions may be held in contempt of court. Penalties for contempt may include imprisonment, a fine or the seizure of assets.
However, the defendants may apply to have the order varied or discharged. Any such application must be preceded by at least 48 hours’ written notice to the plaintiff’s solicitors.
The court ordered that the costs of the application be costs in the cause and directed that the order be served on all parties immediately.
The interim injunction will remain in force until the substantive application is determined or the court issues another order.
