The staff of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) have presented a commemorative “Thank You Frame” to the Executive Director, Mr. James Bagie Bio, in recognition of his outstanding representation of both the Authority and the country at the United Nations Annual General Meeting (UN AGM) on Road Safety.
The presentation, which took place at the SLRSA headquarters in Freetown, was a show of appreciation from management and staff for the Executive Director’s leadership and commitment to advancing Sierra Leone’s road safety agenda on the global stage.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Assanatu Judith Mans-Bangura, Director of Human Resources, said the Executive Director’s participation at the UN AGM not only projected the image of SLRSA, but also amplified Sierra Leone’s voice on critical issues of road safety, crash prevention, and sustainable transport.
“Your presence at the UN AGM put Sierra Leone on the map in global road safety discussions. You carried the SLRSA flag with dignity and professionalism, and for that we say thank you,” Mrs. Mans-Bangura stated.
The frame was presented to Mr. Bio on behalf of Management and staff of the Authority by the Director of License, Mr. Mohamed Fofanah and the Director of Finance, Mr. Joseph H. Momoh.
The Executive Director expressed gratitude to the staff for the kind gesture, noting that the achievement was a collective one. He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing lessons and partnerships gained from the UN meeting to strengthen road safety enforcement, public education, and data-driven interventions across the country.
“This frame is not just for me. It belongs to every staff of SLRSA whose hard work makes it possible for us to be recognized internationally. Road safety is a shared responsibility, and together we will continue to save lives on our roads,” he said.
The UN AGM on Road Safety brought together transport and safety leaders from across the world to review progress on the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030.
SLRSA says it remains committed to reducing road crashes and fatalities in Sierra Leone through stronger collaboration with government, development partners, and the public.
