MAFS Presents Comprehensive 12 Month Delivery Agenda
On August 10, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) actively participated in a Delivery Clinic convened by the Office of the Chief Minister at State House. This strategic gathering brought together ministers, senior government officials, technical heads, and implementing agencies with the common goal of advancing key priority deliverables across various sectors, particularly agriculture, over the next twelve months—from September 2026 to August 2027.
The Delivery Clinic was designed as a platform for collaboration, transparency, and accountability. It aimed to identify top priorities within ministries and agencies, set clear implementation timelines, and tackle existing bottlenecks that hinder progress. Such an approach reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) translate policies into tangible results.
During the session, MAFS presented a comprehensive 12-month delivery agenda closely aligned with the objectives of the Feed Salone initiative—Sierra Leone’s flagship program for agricultural transformation. The presentation highlighted critical infrastructure investments, production boosts, national agricultural systems upgrades, and institutional reforms all packaged within a robust, results-driven framework. This consolidated approach highlights MAFS’ dedication to delivering measurable agricultural outcomes that directly benefit farmers, women, youth, and agribusinesses nationwide.
A key focus of the clinic was fostering accountability through clear objectives, defined timelines, assigned responsibilities, and adequate resource allocations. MAFS used this opportunity to appeal for stronger government support to overcome challenges such as financing constraints, procurement delays, customs and logistics issues, contractor performance concerns, and the need for enhanced inter-agency coordination.
The presence and active involvement of other key institutions—including the Ministries of Finance and Planning and Economic Development, the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Monitoring and Evaluation Agency demonstrated a coordinated effort to ensure well-informed decision-making and reinforce mechanisms for monitoring progress against agreed commitments.
MAFS’ participation underscored its unwavering commitment to accelerating the implementation of priority agricultural investments and programs. By moving these initiatives into full operation, the ministry aims to generate tangible improvements in food security, livelihoods, and economic opportunities for all Sierra Leoneans engaged in agriculture.
