Faith Grow Microfinance Sierra Leone on March 29th, 2026 officially launched its operations in Mile 91, Tonkolili District, marking a significant step toward expanding financial inclusion and supporting grassroots economic development in Northern Sierra Leone.

The launch ceremony, held along Magbokie Junction of Freetown Road, in Mile 91, brought together financial experts, community stakeholders, local leaders, and residents from across Yoni and Masimra Chiefdoms. The event served as a platform for dialogue on strengthening community-based economic systems and improving access to financial services for underserved populations.

Speaking at the event, the Founder and CEO of Faith Grow Microfinance, Dauda Arun Bangura, emphasized that the institution was established to empower low-income earners and small and medium-scale enterprises within the district. He noted that since its establishment in July 2025, the company has already impacted dozens of beneficiaries through its financial support initiatives.

“Our mission is to provide accessible financial services to those who need it most, particularly small business owners and individuals striving to improve their livelihoods,” Bangura stated. “We are committed to building economic resilience in Yoni and Masimra Chiefdoms.” he ended.

When talking to News Journal Media, the company’s Manager, Fatmata J. Sankoh, highlighted the institution’s focus on supporting vulnerable women engaged in or aspiring to start businesses. She called on the government, non-governmental organizations, and private sector partners to collaborate with Faith Grow Microfinance in addressing financial challenges faced by rural entrepreneurs.

“We are particularly targeting women who have the potential to transform their communities through business, but lack the financial backing,” Sankoh said. “Partnerships will be key in scaling our impact and reducing financial barriers across the region.”

The symbolic opening of the office space was performed by Pastor Jacob Kanu, who commended the initiative and offered prayers for the growth and sustainability of the institution.

Community members present at the event expressed optimism that the presence of Faith Grow Microfinance in Mile 91 will stimulate local economic activities, create opportunities for small businesses, and contribute to poverty reduction in the district.

The launch of Faith Grow Microfinance comes at a time when access to credit remains a challenge for many rural entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone. Stakeholders believe that such initiatives could play a vital role in bridging the financial gap and fostering inclusive development.
